What is
Private Equity?

Investment beyond the stock market, in companies that grow in private markets.

A broader universe of opportunities

Did you know that over 95% of companies are not listed on the stock market? If you only invest in public markets, you are missing out on the vast majority of the universe.

Higher return potential

In recent years, private equity funds have consistently outperformed the main equity index. At Crescenta, we offer funds with historical simulated returns above 15%*

Lower volatility

Private markets are much less exposed to market swings, so including private equity funds will reduce your portfolio's volatility. These types of funds feature a highly attractive risk-return profile.

What is Private
Equity through Airbnb

How private equity drives companies before the general public can buy their shares.

2009

Venture Capital

A web platform is born for anyone to rent out a room or their home to travelers.
The fund "Y Combinator" provides 20,000 dollars to validate that the business model actually works and is scalable.
2010-2011

Venture Capital and Private Equity Growth

The fund Sequoia Capital leads a 7.2 million dollar investment. The following year, more investors enter with 112 million dollars. The money is used to build the mobile app, expand into Europe, and hire engineers and experienced executives. The company reaches a valuation of 1 billion dollars (becomes a "Unicorn").
2014-2017

Buyouts

Large traditional Private Equity firms (such as Silver Lake and TPG) inject billions of dollars.
They finance the acquisition of smaller competing companies worldwide and launch new products (such as "Airbnb Experiences"). The private valuation skyrockets to 31 billion dollars.
2020

Initial Public Offering (IPO)

Airbnb debuts on the stock exchange (NASDAQ).
The company is valued at 100 billion dollars on its first day. The Private Equity funds that invested in the earlier phases sell their shares to the general public and multiply their investment.

How a fund works?

Funds are experts at identifying this type of companies and executing value-creation plans. However, this process is not immediate, which is why it is a long-term investment.
